    Because this deal has successfully closed in the past, Law Charge is now accepting SINGLE buyers!

    For $75, Law Charge will set up a merchant account for you so that you can immediately start accepting credit card payments from clients and have the payments deposited into either your trust account or your law firm operating account. 

    The normal set up charge is $150.00. 

    Law Charge was founded by Tracy Griffin, an attorney, and complies with all trust accounting requirements.  All credit card transaction fees are debited from your operating account, not your trust account so that 100% of your client's funds are deposited into your trust account as required by your local bar rules.

    • You must be a new client.
    • You must set up your merchant account by December 31, 2010.

    How It Works
    When a client pays with a credit card, you take their information and enter it into our virtual terminal on our website.  You select whether you want the payment to go into your trust account or your law firm operating account.  If the payment is a retainer for future services, the entire amount must go into your trust account. (All credit card transaction fees are debited from your operating account.)

    Law Charge was founded by attorney Tracy L Griffin in 2000. Ms. Griffin has 25 years experience in the processing and payment industry prior to her second career as a lawyer. Recognizing the need for a reliable way in which attorneys could accept credit card payments from their clients while staying in compliance with proper trust accounting principles and ethics, she designed the Law Charge programs.

    Law Charge: Merchant accounts designed by an attorney for attorneys. Accept credit card payments from your clients while staying in compliance with proper trust/IOLTA account rules and regulations. You can deposit transactions to either or both your trust and /or operating accounts yet the fees will only be debited from your operating account ...at the end of the month.

    The Law Charge programs allow you to avoid the issue of co-mingling of funds when accepting credit card payments. In these uncertain economic times - people are either holding onto their cash because they have no idea what is coming next or they simply do not have the cash to pay your retainer fee. By giving your clients (and potential clients) the opportunity to pay your fees by credit card you will increase your revenue and reduce your write offs.

    How It Works

    Our Fees
    Law Charge does not charge a monthly minimum or an inactivity fee, invoice fee or any other junk fees.  So if you don't receive any credit card payments during the month, you are charged nothing!
    • Technical Support Fee:  If you have any credit card activity during the month, there is a flat $10 fee for that month.  If there is no activity, there is no technical support fee. 
    • Transaction Fee:  .19 to .78 cents per transaction, depending on the type of processing.  
    • Discount Fees:  Determined Upon Type of Processing and Receipt of Application. You May Call in Advance for a Conditional Quote.
